Academic background: 

1990-1993, Ph.D. candidate in Department of Civil Engineering, the University of Tokyo, Japan, specializing in water resources and environmental engineering. 

1985-1987, Master’s candidate in Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, specializing in water resources engineering. 

1981-1985, undergraduate student at Hohai University, Nanjing, China, specializing in hydrology and water resources engineering.

April 2010 to Now, Professor and Vice Chief Engineer of China Institute of Water Resources and hydropower Research (IWHR), Dean of IWHR Graduate School

Research interests:

Impact of climate change on hydrologic cycle and water resources; development and application of decision support systems to integrated water resources management and flood management; multireservoir systems operation and management; water resources planning and management; water quality modeling; comprehensive stormwater management; hydrologic/hydraulic modeling; urban hydrology; hydrometeorology; flood control planning and flood risk management; application of GIS and remote sensing to hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.

Academic achievement:

Having published 86 papers published in peer-reviewed journals
