Achievements

Jia Jinsheng, Professor and Senior Engineer of China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) .Now he is the Vice President and Secretary General of Chinese National Committee on Large Dams.

Since 1990, He has devoted himself to the design, construction, rehabilitation and research of more than 40 dam projects both home and abroad, including Three Gorges Projects, Xiaolangdi Projects, Ertan Projects, South-to-North Water Diversion Project and etc..

He has contributed more than 180 papers to many journals, and has drafted five Chinese design codes related to dams. He has been awarded four national prizes in technique progress and more than 10 ministerial prizes for his excellent professional work.

In 2009, he was elected as the President of ICOLD and now is the Honorary President of ICOLD. During his presidency, he made great contribution to the development of ICOLD.
