Achievements

Prof. Liu has been engaged in research on the real working behavior of high dams, temperature control and crack prevention of mass concrete, simulation analysis of hydraulic structure.

Focusing on the key technical problems in the construction of high dams in China, Prof. Liu has presided over and participated in the national key research and development program Key Technology for Concrete Dam Construction and Safe Operation Guarantee in Cold and Complex Conditions and more than 40 significant scientific research projects.  

In the fields of simulation analysis methods for the real working behavior of high arch dams and intelligent temperature control systems for cracking prevention of concrete dam, Prof. Liu has achieved innovative research results, which have been applied in world-class projects such as Jinping I Dam, Baihetan Dam, and the South to North Water Diversion Project. More than 90 scientific papers, 70 patents and 2 monographs have been published.
